Find Purpose And Passion
Make sure you find purpose and passion in life before setting out on any entrepreneurial adventures. First and foremost, by ensuring you've definitely found it and put it into action, you will lead the happiest and most fulfilling life you could possibly have. We all have the ability to reach our full potential and be totally happy and at peace in all we do in life, sadly most won't get there. The vast majority will sit at desks in dingy offices doing jobs they hate, take orders from bosses they despise and have no respect for whilst walking the tight-rope of office politics and generally muddling along in pure mediocrity. Sure, doing the job and playing it safe will put food on the table, some money in our pockets (not as much as it could though) and clothes on our backs. But we'll hate ourselves for it - we'll always hark back to when we were children and wondered how simple it all seemed back then, having dreams of what we were going to do 'when we grew up'. And now we ponder to ourselves why it didn't go as planned and how we are not capable of doing whatever it was we originally wanted to do in life now that we're all grown up and Mr or Mrs Anxious and Fearful. What is it that we need to do then to turn this around and find purpose and passion in life?
Think Like A Child
The irony is that all we really need to do is encourage those 'childish' feelings of anything is possible and bring them back into our adult lives. Reclaim that ability to see the future with such clarity, precision and simplicity that only a child is capable of. The dream of being an astronaut, a writer, a famous actor, a pilot, a train driver or a ballerina - it doesn't matter what it was or how highly the position is perceived in society - all that mattered was that it is what you felt in your heart - it was what you believed you would be most happy doing. It's going to be like that if you want to cultivate your true desires again - get those fires burning in your belly once more. Get out of that rut, do what you most want to do with your self and find purpose and passion and true meaning in life. "How do I do this though? I just seem to go around and around in circles and end up in the same spot. How do I find out what it is that would make me happy in life?"
Find Purpose and Passion - Tune Into Burning Emotion
One way I think you will find it easier to find your inner purpose is to think about what fires up overwhelming emotion inside you and then try to connect to why it does that to you. What's causing that? That's a glimpse of your purpose calling you. OK, that may sound easier said than done. It might not come to you immediately, and I expect most likely that it won't. Don't worry if it doesn't hit you slap bang in the face straightaway. You may also think yourself as a bit of a tough cookie and don't get soppy at anything at all, but I don't believe that's really true and I don't think you do either. You'll need to try and put yourself in a position when you remember that last feeling of emotion spilling up into your chest at a certain occurrence; a feeling of being connected to the situation at hand and why you related to it, why you felt part of it. It could have been in a book you just read, a recent film you watched, a documentary you saw or an article you read in a newspaper or magazine. It might have been in a situation in real life when you were going around your daily business, like at the supermarket, seeing a school play or sitting on a bus -it could be anything, only you can know though. When you felt that emotional moment, what did it make you think about? Did it make you think of somewhere you wanted to be? Or something you wanted to do? Even if that meant you might feel a little silly in front of people who 'know' you because it is way off what you are doing now. If you manage to put yourself in that situation I think you may be on the first step to knowing how to find purpose and passion in life.
Find Purpose And Passion By Being Yourself
If you're unhappy with your life just now it is because you are not living all of your life (and in that I mean: your career, your family, your relationships with partners, friends and yourself) in tune with your internal beliefs, it is not congruent with you and it is not in balance with you.One or more parts of your life doesn't fit with your internal belief system: we all possess internal hard wired thoughts and feelings (morals if you would like to use this term) that dictate how we react to everyday situations. Of course, some of our internal beliefs will need to be changed if they are causing a negative outcome, but that's not important now. We all have gut feelings about what is right and wrong for us, our own individual sense of reality and therefore our purposes in life will always be different from one another. They may be similar, but they will always be unique to us. Therefore, if you carry on living a life that is out of kilter with your true purpose and meaning you will never achieve that fulfilment and happiness that you deserve because you will be leaving too many voids. You'll just always be saying to yourself "should I be doing this?", "I don't like doing this" or "this doesn't feel natural or right" and you would be correct! One final thing, nobody can know what it is that makes you happy but yourself. It is you that decides, you have free will and it is you who will have to live the life you choose in the end. It won't be your, wife, husband, boy, girlfriend, parents grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends or relatives - only you. So at all times when trying to find purpose and passion in life, do what you should do, not what others think you should.
